For our meeting last Thursday evening we met at the Sunset Road campus of the Sonoran Science Academy. Our club contributed funds for the playground area and equipment for the elementary school students. We met with the principal and a central office administrator, The talked about the academy’s accomplishments with a STEM based educational approach. STEM education is a teaching approach that combines Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Rather than teach the five disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
The following are pictures from the event. If you look closely you will find Niomi Galindo joining us.
