Jeff started as town manager here in Oro Valley in June of 2023, after many years in similar positions in the Mid-West. Born in Indiana, Jeff is a Hoosier. (Ask John B. what a Hoosier is.) One point that was stressed by Jeff is that locating your home or business in Oro Valley is a conscious choice of many people.
Without trying to recall all of Jeff’s points, here are a few:
Oro Valley is sales tax dependent for most of its funding.
A housing study will be conducted, as guidance in developing the next general plan.
Videos are available on the town’s website to help understand how OV operates.
The format of monthly department reports, available on the website, is being reworked to hopefully make them more understandable for the public.
Many improvements have been made to Naranja Park, with more to come; including a two-million-dollar project that just secured a one million dollar federal grant for funding.
A multiuse pathway is planned for the north side of Naranja Drive. It will be a federal project, so it is several years away.
Water usage of the town’s system has been down over the last several years.
A facility on the west side of town is being built to help OV better use and more easily distribute the town’s portion of the CAP water allowance.
All the wastewater that is sent to Tucson for reclamation and returned to OV for use is being used in Oro Valley.
Want to better understand how the town government works? There is information on the town website, including information about the “Citizen’s Academy”.
