The speaker for the meeting was Kristi Halvorson, the 2022-23 D5500 Grant Chair, 2023-24 District Foundation Chair. She gave an overview of grants and the Rotary Foundation. There are four main types of grants:
District Grant – Local small projects, Short term with active club involvement, and Apply to D5500
Global Grant: - Large projects,Substantiable and Measurable, International partnering Rotary Club, and Supports or Focus on one of Rotary International’s 7 Areas of Focus
Programs of Scale – Supports Rotary member-led programs that have already demonstrated success
(New) ‘Disasters of Great Magnitude’ Grants – Targeted funds for disaster relief, such as, Ukraine, Pakistan, and potentially Turkey.
