Dave Perry is known to many in our club and the greater Oro Valley community because of his time leading the Oro Valley Chamber. Recently Dave retired from that position and in his retirement has returned to The Explorer weekly newspaper; except, this time as a reporter instead of his previous position as publisher/editor.
Dave shared tidbits of his move to the area in 2007 through his years with the Chamber and Oro Valley, and into retirement, including pinch hitting for his successor at the Chamber, attending evening meetings, so Kristen Sharp (Chamber CEO/President) can spend time with her young family. He also shared insights into the further development of the Naranja Park facilities and site, and the impact of the stagnant development of the Oro Valley Marketplace has on a “sales tax” dependent municipality such as Oro Valley.
On the evening of November15 Oro Valley Rotary was well represented at the BNI 6 Figure $uccess second annual Fashion Fusion Show.
This BNI chapter uses the profits to support the community projects of the Rotary Club of Oro Valley, including recent presenter “Southern Arizona Book Heroes”. The preliminary numbers indicate at least $9,000 will be realized as profit.
In addition to more than a dozen of our club’s members, spouses, and friends attending, several members were models.
